Labour Administration.

Hawkins considers Mrs. M. Allison, formerly Miss Heap, suitable for appointment as Lady Assistant Labour officer at salary of £330 to £700 by annual increments of £20 plus residential allowance equivalent to that of His treas, Education Department. Person named resigned from Education Department on marriage in 1936 and husband died in 1941. I suggest that suitable point of entry on scale would be £500 in view of previous service and experience. Pensionable service to commence from resumption of duty. If you do not consider Mrs. Allinson suitable for proposed new post, I recommend her return to permanent staff as European Mistress with grant of increments equivalent to previous service. I understand that she is considering other appointment and would be grateful if this could be treated as urgent. Her address is as follows:

No. 2 Leeds Road,

Harrogate.
